Lisa M. Satalino, PT
After graduating from Russell Sage College in 1986 Lisa practiced physical therapy with a specialization in the area of Myofascial Release and Craniosacral Therapy. She took all of John F. Barnes’ course, passed his Proficiency Assessment, and served as an assistant instructor and coordinator for John F. Barnes’ seminars nationally.
Lisa created and taught the Myofascial Release curriculum for the Center for Natural Wellness School of Massage Therapy located in Albany, N.Y. in 1999 and continued to oversee the ongoing development of this curriculum until May of 2017 when she retired from her position as Executive Director of the school.
Additionally, she developed a 118 hour Certification program in MFR and Cranialsacral Therapy, 8 hour classes on Relating Fascia Research Updates to Human Performance and Movement and Introduction to Kineseology Taping for the Manual Therapist, and co-created a 16 hour seminar on the foot and its relationship to upper chain disorders for the Professional Continued Education Division of CNWSMT - an approved provider of continued education for licensed physical therapists and massage therapists.
More recently she developed curriculum to support athletic training practices based on updates in fascial research and developed and implemented injury prevention practices and rehabilitation programing for a local Junior Olympic USAG gymnastics team as well as several Cross-Fit Training Centers.
In the past, she has been a Consultant/Teacher to Albany Medical Center Hospital Family Practice Residency Program and more recently, a guest speaker at Russell Sage College’s DPT program. She also taught continued education classes for both the APTA amd AMTA.
Lisa's clinical experiences include working in home care, early intervention, the school setting, rehabilitation, private practice, and with equine athletes and gymnasts.
Lisa is certified in Fascial Movement Taping Levels 1 and 2 and is a NYS certified early intervention provider.
In May of 2017 Lisa retired from her position as the Executive Director of the Center for Natural Wellness School of Massage Therapy where she managed all operations of this private trade school, its working clinic, bookstore, and Professional Continued Education program.
At present, she returned to private practice specializing in injury prevention and rehabilitation for gymnasts and athletes of all ages.
